01What is My 9 Games?
My 9 Games (also called “9 games that made me”, “9 games that shaped me” or “9 games that define me”) is a social trend where you share a 3×3 grid of the nine video games that shaped who you are — the ones you grew up with, sank hundreds of hours into or still think about.
02Is this the same as a 3x3 games template?
Yes, it is the same idea: nine game covers in a 3x3 grid. Instead of filling a template in an image editor, you search each game here and the grid is laid out for you, ready to download.
03Is My9Maker free? Do I need an account?
It is completely free and needs no sign-up. Pick your games, create your image and you are done.
04How do I post my grid to Instagram, X, Threads or Reddit?
Tap “Create my image”. You land on your grid’s own page with a 1080×1598 portrait image (with your grid’s link at the bottom): download it and upload it like any photo to X, Threads, Reddit or Instagram — Instagram’s feed previews it at 4:5 and shows the full grid when opened. The same page has a link to share and paste-ready forum code (BBCode or Markdown) for sites that only take image links. On a phone, the share button opens your phone’s share sheet with the image attached. Add #My9Games so others can find it.
05How do I change the order of the games?
Drag a game onto another tile and the two swap places. On a phone, press and hold the game for a moment, then drag. With a keyboard, press Space on a tile, move with the arrow keys and press Space again.
06Why can’t I find a game?
Try the game’s official English title, drop subtitles or edition names, or search a shorter part of the name (for example “Zelda” instead of the full title). Very new, obscure or regional releases may not be listed in the database yet — pick the closest match or try again later.
07Does it work on my phone?
Yes. The maker runs in any modern mobile browser, with nothing to install. Search, pick your nine games and save or share the image straight from your phone.
08Will I lose my picks if I close the page?
No. Your grid is saved in your browser, so it is still there when you come back on the same device. Nothing is uploaded to an account, and “Clear all” starts over.
09Where do the game covers come from?
Game names and cover images come from IGDB or RAWG, public video game databases, credited under the maker. All game titles, trademarks and cover art belong to their respective owners.
10Can I make one for anime, movies or characters?
Yes. The same 3×3 maker exists for anime (My 9 Animes), for movies (My 9 Movies) and for favourite characters (My 9 Characters).
